Chris began his career with Electrozad on February 20th, 1983. His first position was making deliveries as a truck driver. He then advanced to a warehouse position and when Windsor moved into their new Jefferson Boulevard facility, Chris was working as a Customer Service / Counter Sales representative. In 1991, Chris was promoted to the position of Sales Representative, taking over a sales territory.
Chris said he had the opportunity to work with some great mentors like Wayne Mantha, Dave Mitchener, Bob Landra and Dave Taylor during his early sales career. He recalls one of his greatest sales memories was taking on a lead for a small company in Essex, ON that were interested in Hubbell products. Chris set up a sales call with the company, met with their key personnel, and reviewed the delivery challenges the customer was having with about 11 vendors. Chris seized the opportunity to prepare an Electrozad package of products and provide the solution the customer was looking for – one package of material, one part number and one price. This customer was so happy with this concept, they eventually grew to be a long-term account. He said he had some great successes over the years, but he couldn’t have done it without the “great team” he was able to work with at the office and warehouse.
Chris was very involved with the employee social group assisting with different activities such as the Christmas parties, baseball, bowling, football and golf outings over the years as well as our trade shows, customer events and appreciation days. Chris said this involvement helped him feel part of the Electrozad family.
When asked about his careers at Electrozad, Chris stated: "It's been a great run and it's very difficult to say goodbye to working with everyone, but I feel it's my time to move into the retirement chapter of my life. What a pleasure it's been and a great honour to be a part of the Electrozad family all these years. Thank you for taking a chance on me years ago.”
Congratulations Chris on reaching this personal milestone and thank you once again for your years of service and commitment to growing the “Social” Family. We wish you all the best for a long and happy future as you step into retirement and for you to enjoy some new adventures wherever they may take you!
